Maggie Owen (actra)

As the daughter of an American Stars & Stripes newspaper reporter, Maggie Owen lived overseas and traveled widely. She developed a deep understanding and appreciation for various cultures and people. This continuously informs her decision to pursue a wide range of roles and projects.
Maggie’s performance career began at five. She walked into BFK, the bank where her mother was employed in Leonberg, Germany, and was recruited as a child model for the bank's upcoming local ad campaign.
After living overseas for 14 years, Maggie developed her skills as a soprano. She returned to Augusta, Maine, where she started her long-standing love affair with musical theater and independent film eventually moving to New Hampshire for her Bachelor’s Degree in Theater (Musical Theater concentration) and German Literature at The University of New Hampshire.
Yearning for a multicultural living environment that reflected the experiences of her childhood, Maggie set out for Montréal, QC to pursue her Master’s Degree in Drama Therapy and to continue working on musical theater and film. Years later, Maggie remains a proud permanent resident of Canada.
Some of her past roles include: Jekyll & Hyde (Lucy Harris), Kiss Me Kate (Lois/Bianca), Beauty and the Beast (Mme Grandbouche aka The Wardrobe), The Drowsy Chaperone (Beatrice Stockwell/Drowsy Chaperone), Lies My Father Told Me (Char Lady) and The Wild Party (LaChiusa - Queenie), 42nd Street (Dorothy Brock). Some of her screen credits include It's A Wonderful World - A Montreal-based Ethnodrama (Group Facilitator), Enemy Combatant (Nancy Raymond) and Astro 12 (Psyche).
