Thelma
Farmer (actra, caea)
Thelma Farmer is an ACTRA Award
winning actor, singer and voice specialist with over twenty years of experience
performing in a wide range of projects in Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa.
Animation credits include multiple
principal roles in the series “The Secret Life of Benjamin Bear “(3 seasons),
“Hoze Hounds” (5 seasons), “T'choupie” (2 seasons) and “Quebecio”; featured
characters in “Kevin Spencer” V and VI, “Little Lulu”, “White Fang” as
well as the featured role of 'Princess Cindy' in Cinar's Christmas special,
“The Prince's Rain” opposite Joe Piscapo's, 'Prince Vince'.
Thelma has also been featured in
jingles and has voiced national and international radio and television
advertising campaigns for clients such as Lancome, Corel, Nicoderm, L'Oreal,
Canada Post, and Canada Revenue, as well as numerous educational and information
audio productions.
She has also performed in theatre,
film and corporate productions, and as a member of Opera Lyra Chorus,
appeared in “Tales of Hoffmann” and “Romeo and Juliette” at the National
Arts Centre.
An experienced studio singer, songwriter
and audio producer, Thelma has conducted voice workshops for ACTRA Maritimes,
ACTRA Ottawa, The Canadian Screen Training Centre, and Concordia University.
She was also a guest speaker on the voice-over panel at the Ottawa International
Animation Festival.
Other interests include writing
songs for an independent CD, voice directing, and voice coaching.
